Spotify has started attaching an AI-generated label to tracks it identifies as AI music. The label gets applied at ingest, before any human listens, and it shapes what the platform does with your track from that moment on — playlist eligibility, recommendation weighting, Discover Weekly placement.

You probably didn't volunteer this information. Your file did.

The C2PA manifest in the file. These signals are independent. The C2PA assertion in the file lives in the audio container. The DDEX flag lives in a database record at the distributor. Spotify reads both. Either one alone is enough to trigger the AI label.
